Don't frown because it's over...Smile because it happened

Bunny's life began with humble beginnings. She grew up in a farming community in Grass Lake, Michigan. After graduating from high school Bunny moved to Ann Arbor to attend college and obtained her Master Cosmetology Degree and license. She worked as a hair stylist on the University of Michigan campus.

Bunny married in 1982, and gave birth to a boy, Jesse in 1983 and a girl Nicki in 1985.

The Leach family of four traveled all over the world while Bunny's husband competed on the professional tennis circuit. In 1987 they pulled up roots and moved from Michigan, to Roswell Georgia. Two years later they moved to Marietta, GA., and then in 1992 when her husband retired from the tennis tour they moved to Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. When the kids became high school age both elected to attend "Douglas Anderson School of the Arts" (DASOTA) in downtown Jacksonville. Jesse majored in jazz and classical guitar, and Nicki majored in theater.

Then things went terribly wrong on October 7, 2002 when Nicki was 16, and was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor, a glioblastoma (GBM). Through it all Nicki preserved and courageously fought through two brain surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation, steroids, and many more pills and procedures all aimed at saving her life. Sadly treatment was unsuccessful. After three years she lost her battle with cancer; She was nineteen when she died ~ October 3, 1985 ~ April 29, 2005 ~
In 2006 Bunny created The Nicki Leach Foundation in her daughter's memory. A non-profit organization that awards scholarships for education to young adults (18-30) who have cancer.
