Sixty Is The New Forty ~ thank's to Christie Brinkley

http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20780764,00.html

Sixty is the new forty at least for this woman!

Christie Brinkley turns 60 and poses in her bathing suit on the cover of People magazine!

I sing praises to Christie Brinkley and commend her on staying healthy and fit. She is just gorgeous at sixty. Just as the old saying goes "age is just a number", well yes it is. Most woman at forty years of age are taking care of kids and working probably leaving little time to themselves. Having raised two kids myself I can agree that when a woman reaches sixty and has kept herself in shape, and has a healthy diet the world is seen through different eyes. When I was forty I was running around taking care of everyone else, before myself, but don't get me wrong I loved it. I loved caring for my family and my kids. As a stay at home mom I spent twenty-years devoting my time to my family. I did it by choice. But I can't deny that I love where I'm at in my life now, and feel healthier than I did ten years ago. Why, because I have more time for me than I did when I was raising two kids. Christie has always been know for her commitment to health and fitness. She works out at the gym daily, runs, loves skiing, and sailing. She's been a vegetarian since she was a teen. Her healthy habits and positive attitude show on her face and body. Thank you, Christie for being a healthy, happy role model for woman of every age, but especially for making a statement that woman can make a choice to be healthy and fit and rock the cover of a magazine in her swimsuit at 60!

Cabin Time

Welcome to the cabin where I write. This is the rocking chair on the front porch. The back of the cabin has balcony with a porch swing overlooking a beautiful view of nature, where I do most of my writing. It's so high up that I'm looking at the top of the trees watching the birds while the wind blows the leaves while the birds chirp. This backdrop is stimulating and sets the tone for thoughts to come to my mind as I write. This is not where I wrote Turtle Shells my first book but I'm writing the sequel Sunrise Over Ponte Vedra Beach mostly from this cabin.

My next book the sequel is a story about moving on in life.  And that by moving forward we can grow and build new dreams.

Dreams are what keep us moving forward to create the life we want. We are not defined by our past, but instead we create the life we want by putting one foot in front of the other. We can get to where we want to go...one step at a time. You will find that your dream is just around the bend...

Come with me because the sun comes out again ~ and Dreams become reality if you believe!  Bunny

Smile Because It Happened

Hello!

My book "Smile Because It Happened" is undergoing copyediting.  What does this mean?  Well, it means that my manuscript is being reviewed and adjusted by my publisher for any technical issues that my be present. This is the first step in the publishing process.

When copyediting is finished my manuscript will be moved to a conceptual editor to be further checked for any grammatical errors.

My copy editor reviews my manuscript for technical errors, checking for correct punctuation, misspellings, and formatting ~ (scripture and dialogue).

My conceptual editor works more in depth with my manuscript.

Copyediting is a one - month process so it will be completed at the end of July.  Conceptual editing begins in August!

Right now it looks like my release date will be April 2012 ~ My birth month, the month my daughter Nicki died...Remember --- the book is based around her life and death.

I'm so excited...in a bitter sweet way...

Thank you for your support, and for your prayers - I still need them, and I'm so very thankful.

Bio & Teaser for my book

Although we are still in the very early stage of turning my manuscript into a book we do have the Bio & Teaser.  My next post will reveal the New York Times bestselling author who wrote my introduction!

Bunny Leach – Bio

Bunny Leach grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  After living in Atlanta, Georgia, and traveling extensively through Asia, Australia and Europe she settled in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.  There, in her cottage by the Atlantic Ocean, she wrote her first book, an inspirational memoir based on the death of her teenage daughter, Nicki, from a malignant brain tumor.

When she’s not writing she can be found walking on the beach collecting shells, or running.  Leach also enjoys meditation and yoga.  Her son, Jesse, a musician and black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is her most important reader.

Teaser

At one time, her life seemed perfect. Bunny Leach traveled with her husband and two children on the professional tennis circuit.  Then, when he retired, they packed up and moved to paradise.  But things went terribly wrong in 2005 when their sixteen-year-old daughter, Nicki, was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor and died three years later. After that, the marriage ended. When her son went off to live his own life, she realized she was now alone. But not completely… She put her faith in God and kept her promise to her daughter to “be happy, Mommy.” She set out to renew her life and follow her heart.  In doing that, she found love again and, in honor of her daughter, built a foundation of hope for teenagers and young adults with cancer.

I signed with Tate Publishing - February 24, 2011

August 2010 I submitted my manuscript to Tate Publishing.

September 2010 they offered me a contract.

I didn't accept their contract at that time, but instead spent five months researching and submitting my mss to other companies, even agents. Looking for a better deal. It was all mind boggling. Being an unknown first time author I quickly found out that I am too risky for any major company to take on.

Tate Publishing has a lot of connections with Christian bookstores, as well as all the other major bookstores, Barnes and Noble, Amazon, etc.  My contract is also to include Tate to  marketing, distribute, and to promote my book. As well they offer publicity, a website, book trailer, audio, and e-book.  These are the reasons that I picked them.

February 24, 2011 I signed a contract to have my book published with Tate Publishing. At this time I have been told  that my book will be released sometime around October of this year, about eight months from now.

I'm going to use this blog kind of like a journal through my publishing process.  Like I said earlier this process should take about eight months total. So I've been told. I took the first step - signing the contract.  My next step is to format my manuscript so they can start the four month editing process.

Thanks to everyone who helped me to get this far.

I would love for you to follow my blog as I go through the publishing process. A writers life can be pretty lonely.

Excitedly yours,
Bunny
